Me with Paul, Joe and Andrew at the CdLS Conference

My name is Beth and I’m the author of this blog.  I’ve been married to my husband, Paul for just over 10 years.  We have two children together, Joe who turns 9 tomorrow and Andrew who just turned 7 and has cornelia de lange syndrome.  I also have another son from my previous marriage.  His name is Justin and he will turn 20 in October.

I’ve been a stay at home mom since Joe was born and I’m incredibly grateful to my husband for making that possible.  Paul is in sales and sells pension plans for The Hartford.  Joe’s favorite things are video games.  Anything he can play on the Wii, Nintendo DS, computer games.  I really need to get him out more.  Justin, my oldest, has recently gotten interested in body building and will have his first competition this weekend.  I’ll have to post some pictures.  He’s all natural (thank goodness!) and driving me nuts with the hunger and the rules about what he can eat and what he can’t!  Can’t wait till this competition is done.

Then there is Andrew.  He was diagnosed with Cornelia deLange Syndrome at birth.  He is relatively healthy, has a great sense of humor, and is very social.  His favorite things are his electric toothbrush, spinning, toys that light up and make music and his reflection in the mirror.
